About Our Bakery
Al, a native of Pateros and Brewster, Washington decided it was time to be closer to his roots and family. He packed up and left Denver CO for the peace and quiet of the Methow Valley.
Al found a wonderful building for sale located on the banks of the Columbia River. It was a dental office that was closed down. After purchasing the building he remodeled it, adding additional space and the equipment necessary for an artisan bakery. The SweetRiver Bakery started operation in June of 2002 and business has continually grown for the last seven years.
Alex, Al’s youngest son, left Denver to join the business in 2007 and is taking over the day to day management of the Bakery. Alex is also a skilled baker and oversees the bread baking and pastry baking operations. Together they stay commited to producing only the finest quality bread and pastry, and always from scratch.
